Dan Esty's former New Haven environmental consulting firm relaunched as a Washington D.C. company on Thursday. Esty departed a year ago to become commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection.

P&G, Wharton Business School, and Viridis teamed up to use an Innovation Tournament approach to accelerate P&G’s progress towards the ambitious goal of running its 180 manufacturing plants worldwide on 30% renewable energy by 2020. The Wharton article tells the story of how this approach, which leverages the theory of Innovation Tournaments, was able to jumpstart P&G’s renewable energy program.

David Lubin, Senior Advisor at Viridis and Chairman of the Sustainability Innovators Working Group, and Amy Longsworth, Viridis Partner, teamed up with Palladium Group Director of Research Randall Russell to examine how companies can use a balanced scorecard approach to address sustainability. Their article, “Sustainability Strategy Transforms the Enterprise” was published in Harvard Business’s Balanced Scorecard Report, and describes a new model for creating sustainable economic value.
