George Favaloro, Managing Partner

George has more than 20 years of strategic consulting and executive management experience. In addition to managing Viridis Strategy Group's growing portfolio of services, George focuses on assisting clients to formulate and execute environmental strategies and helping Chief Sustainability Officers to “scale up” sustainability programs for maximum impact. His clients include leading companies in the communication and information technology, lodging, grocery, home products, apparel, chemical, consumer packaged goods, waste management, and airline industries.
George was formerly with McKinsey & Company’s Boston office, as well as with Compaq, where he founded, launched, and grew the Internet Solutions Division. He is a founder and board member of Terrapass, a retail carbon offset company. George holds a B.A. from Princeton and an M.B.A. from Dartmouth.

Amy Longsworth, Partner

Amy has 20 years of experience in environmental marketing, strategy and communications. Since joining Viridis Strategy Group in 2006, she has led teams in developing environmental strategy for clients in the grocery, personal care, apparel industries, among others. She is an expert in helping companies communicate on environmental programs, positions, and brands.
As vice president for corporate programs at The Nature Conservancy, Amy developed significant marketing and philanthropic relationships with leading corporations. She also managed the International Leadership Council, a corporate executive working group that focused on environmental issues and business actions.
An independent communications consultant prior to joining Viridis, Amy worked on environmental and strategic projects for a variety of businesses and NGO clients. She has published articles on natural resource issues for general audiences and served as Vice-Chairman of the board of the American Farmland Trust. Amy holds a B.A. from Wesleyan and an M.B.A. from Harvard.

David Lubin, Senior Advisor, Viridis Strategy Group; Chairman, Sustainability Innovators Working Group

David Lubin has extensive experience in founding and managing successful technology and business consulting firms. David co-founded and served as chairman of the Palladium Group, a consulting firm focused on helping companies connect strategy to operations. Previously, he co-founded Renaissance Solutions, where he served as co-chairman, and Renaissance Worldwide, where he served as managing director of the firm with more than 70 offices worldwide. He also co-founded Zefer, a leading internet strategy and technology firm; and Spectrum Interactive, a leader in multi-media technology. David served on the faculties of Tufts University and Harvard University. He advises several venture capital and private equity funds and serves on several private and nonprofit boards. He has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and an Ed.D in human development from Harvard.

Steve Ramsey, Senior Advisor, Esty Environmental Partners; Faculty Director, Sustainability Innovators Working Group

Steve Ramsey served as Vice President for Corporate Environmental Programs at General Electric Company (GE) from 1990 to 2008. In this capacity, he developed and implemented GE’s environmental health and safety management systems, programs and policies; negotiated resolution of GE’s principal remedial liabilities; and was integral to the development of GE’s Ecomagination strategy. Prior to his tenure at GE, Steve practiced law at Sidley & Austin, and he served as the first Chief of the Environmental Enforcement Section at the U.S. Department of Justice. He is currently a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, focusing on the intersection of business and sustainability. Steve has advised numerous companies about environmental and sustainability strategies and management systems. He is a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton and a law degree from University of Texas.

Daniel Esty, Founder and Former Chairman

Dan Esty is one of the world’s leading experts on corporate environmental strategy, and served as the Chairman of Viridis from 2006 until early 2011. He now works as the Commissioner for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for the state of Connecticut. Dan has written or edited ten books and dozens of articles on environmental strategy, competitiveness, policy reform, and regulation. His prize-winning book (with Andrew Winston) Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage argues that sustainability has become a critical element of corporate strategy.
